KARINA RIVERA

“Teaching is something I’m totally passionate about. I seek to sweeten people's lives, either with my knowledge or through a dessert.”

I am a Pastry Chef originally from Mexico City. I have over 10 years of experience in notable hotels and bakeries in Mexico and the US. In 2020 I founded my own company, Sweets with love, where I focus on teaching online and in-person classes, selling seasonal macarons and consulting for bakeries and restaurants. 

I studied culinary arts in Mexico City, and since then I have always known my heart belonged to pastry. In 2012 I took my first formal job as a pastry cook at Celebrity Cruises.  After a year, I was selected for an amazing opportunity -to internship at St Regis Hotel in Bar Harbour next to renowned Chefs like Antonio Bachour and Brad Kilgore.

 

There, my knowledge and passion for pastry grew to a new level. My hard work, dedication and inspiration, helped me become the Head Pastry Chef of Bachour Bakery and Bistro and then Head Pastry Chef of Bachour Miami. After my experience there, I became Head Pastry Chef at Novikov Miami. I have since switched gears to create something of my own. Sweets with love is my dream, and hopefully, you will share it with me.  

 

My passion and expertise have allowed me to be part of other amazing experiences like being the runner-up at the Food Network, Spring baking Championship, assisting Chef Massimo Bottura at different events, and founding Women Chefs 305. I am so grateful that I have been able to participate in these opportunities. They have undoubtedly helped shape me into who I am today. I will always be looking forward to more.
